Microfiber cleaning cloths vs. disposable cloths
Whenever you’re doing some cleaning chances are you will likely look for results you can count on in terms of both efficiency and speed. There are quite a few useful microfiber cleaning cloths you can make part of your daily cleaning routine if you know what you’re doing, but you may also have a liking for disposable cleaning cloths due to the fact they have the usefulness of a fire and forget missile – use and dispose. Both of them have benefits and both have drawbacks, but the following tips will point out the differences so you can decide what suits you best:
- Using disposable cloths
These are most often used for sanitation purposes, coming in more than one form around our home. Often used in rolls around the kitchen for a quick solution to spills that occurred in the heat of cooking, they make for a comfortable and traditional way of solving a crisis. On one hand they can offer a really nice solution for your specific needs since they allow you to keep cross-contamination to a virtual minimum if you use them. Cross contamination is extremely dangerous in hospitals and areas where food is prepared, as bacteria can quickly enter food or could infect surfaces and open wounds without a careful approach. There is a good reason why we never use the same sponge we use to wash dishes to wash other surfaces, as this only helps the spread of bacteria all over the place.
Microfiber cleaning cloths happen to be extremely useful, absorbent and something you can enjoy around your kitchen and home in general. They have been becoming more popular and for a good reason. They are very absorbent and excellent for lifting liquids and dust off most surfaces. Their fibers are 50 times thinner than a human hair, made of two interlocking polyester and polyamide layers that allow for incredible effectiveness in picking up and trapping bacteria. Studies have shown the wiping over with a polish cloth afterwards will eliminate bacteria from surfaces.
They are a great solution for house cleaning, working on a lot of surfaces and even for floor cleaning and washing. The greatest thing about them is that after being done with the cleaning job you can simply wash them and dry them off or even sanitize them and they are ready to roll again. Your house cleaning will be reduced to a more manageable time, but on the other hand you will need to clean the microfiber cloths and wipes every once in a while as well.
For the most part microfiber cleaning cloths offer:
- A more eco-friendly solution – no need to use harmful toxic chemicals, and there is no need to throw away after each use – saving the environment.
- They pick up and trap bacteria more effectively than most cloths. (By using a little white vinegar and going over with a polish cloth afterwards will eliminate bacteria from surfaces).
- They can be used for many purposes
- Microfiber cleaning cloths can be reused again and again – saving you money in the long run.
If on the other hand you use disposable wipes, they offer the option if you want a quick and easy cleaning solution.
